World Cup 2010 - Tuesday June 15

So let's see what went on for today's matches...first some facts..

So far this World Cup has had the lowest amount of goals since USA 94. By this time on Germany World Cup 2006 teams had scored 28 goals compared to this year's 17 goals (before Brasil vs North Korea)...no red cards were given out, as opposed to this year's 4 red cards were already given

Most of the players in North Korea's team are in the military...North Korea is a Communist Country

Today, we had one of the best goalies played: Julio Cesar

The African teams seem as the commentator Fernando Fiore says : "De capa caida". Most of us had expected a lot from them but so far all of them have lost.

So I woke up too late to watch New Zealand vs Slovakia, but as usual the morning games are ok...so not much excitement yet

The next game Portugal vs Ivory Coast got a bit more interesting but not by much, Portugal was doing better than Ivory Coast but their game was very rude and most of the time there was pushing, so I didn't really want them to win because they did not have a clean game. Ronaldo complained to the referee after a foul that was not counted ( who wouldn't be upset, he has not scored a goal in 16 months). At the end I was falling sleep since no goals were made until the last half of the time. In summary Portugal wins but only by one goal.

And finally!! De plato fuerte, Brasil vs North Korea...First half was good, even though Brazil owned the ball by 60%, North Korea really surprised us with their good defense (already given the title of "Muralla China"). Many times Brazil tried to score but with no open gap to the the soccer goal. Then the goals came on the second half with "Elano" scoring the first goal, then 20 minutes later Maicon scored the second one for Brazil. Two minutes before the game ended, North Korea scored an excellent goal and the game ended with a 2-1. North Korea really came with a surprise as the last time they were in a World Cup was 1966 and their first game has not been bad at all.

During "El Gordo y La Flaca's" Show, one of them said the Brasilian players have very unusual names: "Kaka" and "Elano"...just thought it'll be funny lol

Here is a video of the best game for today...Enjoy!
